Junior Achievement sets kids up for success
Grant Thornton works with Junior Achievement on a program that simultaneously excites and educates children about their financial future while giving them the tools they need to succeed.

Community Service Day
Oct. 17, 2014 - Community Service Day
Last fall, 109 Grant Thornton Atlanta employees participated in their annual day of service providing assistance to three United Way agencies: Easter Seals, City of Refuge, and The Gateway Center.

Summer interns organize annual pancake breakfast to benefit charities in Southern California
Each year, the summer interns vote on a charity they would like to raise money for, and then form teams to plan, organize and run a pancake breakfast to benefit that charity. Last year, the sixth Annual Southern California Pancake Breakfast benefited Jumpstart, a local literacy organization. The interns raised over $5,000 by selling tickets to the breakfast and soliciting donations from the public and local businesses. This year’s event will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.

Midwest Grow with Grant Thornton program works with Chicago’s Friends of the Park
Grow with Grant Thornton is a program for students who are two years away from their final graduation dates and are interested in learning more about careers in public accounting. As part of this year’s program, 70 students and 10–15 Grant Thornton professionals headed to Douglas Park in Chicago to assist an organization called Friends of the Park with mulching the playground and surrounding trees.

Baltimore office empowers local women with free professional clothing
The Baltimore office raised money and clothing over the past fiscal year for local nonprofit Suited to Succeed, which assists women in their transition from unemployment to self-sufficiency. Two charity drives raised a total of $175 and 180 pieces of professional clothing, accessories and jewelry that were donated by Grant Thornton employees and their families.
