Grant Thornton was pleased to participate at the RIMS annual conference and exhibition from April 23-26 in Philadelphia. With close to 3,000 attendees and 400 speakers, the four-day RIMS program brought together decision makers and end-users (directors, risk managers, CROs, CEOs, CFOs, risk analysts, managers and government officials) responsible for managing their organizations’ risk portfolios.

We’re also proud that more than 100 RIMS participants attended our presentation, “Innovative trends and advanced approaches emerging in ERM,” delivered by Mark Lastner, Grant Thornton managing director and national Insurance Advisory leader, and Lisa Kremer, U.S. practice leader for Marsh Risk Consulting’s ERM practice.
Mark and Lisa talked about a number of the forces driving change for ERM professionals, including expanding risk profiles, business model disruption, fallout from the financial crisis, regulatory mandates, increasing operational “near-misses,” and board and c-suite enquiries. These are compounded ever-changing ERM guidance and evolving ERM frameworks.
