Human Rights Campaign names Grant Thornton to its 2017 Corporate Equality Index

RFP
HRCRespect … equality … collaboration … inclusion. Those are some of the reasons Grant Thornton LLP has earned a perfect score of 100 points on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index. The HRC Corporate Equality Index rates companies on a scale of 0 to 100 on their fair treatment of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees, consumers and investors, and it is the premier national benchmark for LGBT workplace inclusion.

Grant Thornton prides itself on its commitment to an atmosphere in which people are empowered to develop both personally and professionally. To that end, the firm has put in place a set of LGBT-inclusive corporate policies and practices, like transgender medical benefits and a Safe Space peer-coaching program, which contributed to the firm’s top marks this year.

“Our firm is consistently rated by both employees and independent organizations as a great place to work, and this recognition by the Human Rights Campaign is further proof of our commitment and dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture,” said Nicole Blythe, national managing partner of people experience at Grant Thornton.

“Many firms talk about the importance of their people and values, but they often fall short in terms of execution,” said Erin Thomas, Grant Thornton’s diversity manager. “That’s not the case at Grant Thornton. We are very fortunate to have an executive leadership team that emphasizes the importance of our culture and work environment, and ensures inclusion is a series of behaviors, not just a tagline. We are delighted to see the firm’s efforts be recognized.”
