Semi-Annual Economic RoundupI love summer blockbusters (like Star Wars!) and their sequels, even when they do not manage to recreate the magic of the first film. Sequels provide a familiarity that is reassuring. That is how I see the economy in its current state. A closer look at the data reveals that, much like movie sequels, the energy isn’t quite the same as the last time we saw unemployment plummet to 3.8% back in April of 2000. But there is still time for rewrites and changes in direction. And there’s is always hope of a better ending.
