An update on our COVID-19 preparedness

RFP
Latest Developments: As of March 22, 2020, Grant Thornton has closed our offices to protect the health and safety of our professionals and our clients. Our professionals will continue to work remotely and we do not expect any disruptions in client service.

To our valued Grant Thornton clients, Grant Thornton’s purpose is to "make business more personal and build trust into every result." With the pandemic threat of COVID-19, that means we will serve our people, clients and communities with care and confidence. More than ever we are committed to:

  1. Taking care of our people;
  2. Being here for our clients in their time of need; and
  3. Managing our business – because failure to remain a healthy organization will adversely impact our ability to take care of our people and clients.

I want to assure you that we are prepared for this event and will continue providing the high-quality, results-oriented service you have come to expect from our team. In other words, we stand ready to serve. In line with the commitments above, we have taken some actions we want to share with you.

In response to directives from global and federal healthcare authorities regarding "social distancing" as a method to reduce the spread of this disease, we have put into place policies designed to comply with this objective. We have asked that our people work from home, if possible, and we have halted international and domestic travel. These policies will remain in place until March 31, 2020, at which time we will reassess for continuing necessity.

We are also in contact with regulators and government entities and are following their guidance in all matters related to the viral outbreak. Recognizing this is a quickly changing situation, we are constantly monitoring and assessing our policies.

We are now putting our continuity and readiness plans into action. Using technology, we are able to work remotely to meet your professional audit, tax and advisory needs. Our communication platforms allow us the continuous ability to reach you and our personnel. We are working on plans now to accommodate the needs of clients that require Grant Thornton to perform work on site and to develop solutions to address the unique business problems the virus has created. I have asked our leaders to reach out and work with you and our teams to continue to deliver outstanding client service while exercising good health safety protocols.

I do not doubt that this crisis will test our firm and your organization in very serious ways in the coming weeks. But I also know we are a team of great resilience and deep care for our clients and one another. These are the attributes of our culture I see most clearly as we work through the viral outbreak together. They are the reason I am so confident we will work together with your team to come through this experience stronger than before. Thanks for your trust and confidence in us at this turbulent time.

I ask that you let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

CEO Brad Preber signature
